The Dream became Real! The Turkish Car (TOGG), which stands for Türkiye’nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu (Turkish Automobile Initiative Group), is an ambitious project to create Turkey’s first domestically produced electric car.
The TOGG project is a joint venture between five Turkish companies:
- Anadolu Group
- BMC
- Kök Group
- Turkcell
- Zorlu Holding
The idea for the TOGG project first emerged in 2017, when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey would produce a domestically made car. The project was officially launched in December 2019, and the prototype was unveiled on December 27, 2019.
